You could be 1 important decision away from radically improving your quality of life, your enjoyment and fulfillment from your business and, not to mention, your bottom line.
Curious?
Here it is…
I decided that I was no longer going to work with just anyone. I was willing to push away perfectly good clients and perfectly good money because I felt that they were not a good fit to work with me.
Once I was able to let go of clients that I no longer wanted to work with (ie people that were overly demanding, difficult to work with and exhausting) it opened up my life and calendar to people that I wanted to work with.
You would not believe the massive impact that these “bad clients” and “bad customers” can have on your business!
They can end up sucking up all of your time and they leave you in a bad mood which affects how you deal with your next clients with whom you normally enjoy working.
True story:
Today I got a phone call from someone that came to me after being highly recommended and it was a really, really big opportunity for me. I probably would have made a lot of money from working with this person. But, this individual was very abrasive, acted like a know-it-all, kept interrupting, and was barking orders at me. After 30 minutes, I finally had to say, “Stop, I’m sorry. I’m going to make this really easy. You’re not the type of client that I am willing to take on so you need to find someone else.”
Or course, this person was upset and didn’t understand. But you know what? I felt such tremendous relief. Normally, people are on their best behavior when they first come to you and then you end up seeing the difficult patterns and difficult behaviors later on in the relationship. Well this person was just laying it all out there right at the beginning. I’m grateful that they did because I was able to quickly see that there was no amount of money in the world that was going to make this relationship good for me in my life.
It was so freeing to get rid of that opportunity and say “thanks, but no thanks.”
I encourage you–even if you’re just getting started–understand that there are the perfect people out there waiting for you. They will be able to afford what you are selling, they will want what you are selling, their style will jive with your style and it will be an amazing experience for you.
Open up your schedule and your life to work with those people and don’t be afraid to say no to those people that can negatively effect your enjoyment in your business and your quality of life.
Cheering you on to massive success,
